About Us
SAMP is engineering the future in diverse activties in the field of metal working. Its 3 divisions are split into activities for the manufacturing of cylindrical and bevel gears, the manufacturing of equipment for the production of steel and copper wire and cables as well as the manufacturing of equipment for the production of cylindrical gears. SAMP, 'Società Anonima Meccanica di Precisione' was founded in 1936 by Gaetano Maccaferri producing gears, metal components and steel wire. Its strong growth allowed to spinoff several activties in the following years, for the production of gears, gear cuttting tools and production machinery as well as the manufacture of wire and cable production equipment. Today these activites are organised in three major divisions: Sampingranaggi, Sampsistemi and Samputensili. The headquarters of all three divisions are located in Bologna/Italy. Administrative, financing and marketing tasks for all divisions are directed from here while each division maintains its own research & development, product management and sales and service activties worldwide.
