The SAMP Group closes yet another record year with 2008 turnover surpassing 175 million Euros. Sales of wire drawing and cable extrusion systems were particularly up, whilst machine tool, cutting tool, rotor, gear and gear box sales met the management’s ambitious expectations. Antonio Maccaferri, President of the SAMP Group, is very satisfied with the results of what was a particularly strong year, generating in fact the largest ever turnover growth in the company’s metalworking history: “All divisions - Samputensili, Sampsistemi and Sampingranaggi - experienced another year of considerable growth, producing an overall 22% increase in turnover. Apart from a generally positive market trend, we also attribute this growth to our innovative product development of recent years and to our ongoing commitment to top quality. We will continue to pursue these strategies, focusing on service and continuous improvement. Nevertheless, given the bleak market outlook for 2009, we have also launched large-scale improvement programmes in areas where we still see potential for efficiency.”
